Mother’s Day Handmade Gift Guide

We are thinking about how to make Mother’s Day (March the 27th) a really special day and a handmade gift is a lovely way to show how much you care!

So, if you are feeling like the mums in your life deserve something made with love this Mothering Sunday, we have lots of gorgeous, crafty gift ideas. We’ve done a bit of research and have put together a gift guide – read on for some of our favourite gift ideas, and tips on how to make them at home.

1. Canvas Pouch – make a pretty little canvas pouch for storing makeup or toiletries. We found some beautiful inspiration on Pinterest! This tutorial is fab – you’ll need canvas, or a similar material like duck cotton, cotton for the lining, and a metal zip. Instead of the paint this tutorial suggests why not decorate using some cute buttons or pom-pom trim?
2. Tote bag – tote bags are strong, durable and great for the environment. They can also look stylish and this tutorial is a quick and easy guide for making one. Find the right fabric and equipment in our online shop – we think a spotty print will look lovely.
3. Macrame basket – these little baskets are a great gift idea – not only do they look gorgeous, they are a functional alternative for storage. We found this video tutorial really useful, and you can find Macrame in our shop.
4. Tea towels – help with a kitchen update by gifting Mum a handmade tea towel! They are super quick and easy to make, and you can follow this tutorial for advice. We suggest using a durable, absorbent fabric like cotton. We’ve plenty to choose from in the fabric section of our online shop!
