As a stylecraft yarn stockist, it’s good to have first hand experience of using their products. We drafted in knitting Nanny and she whizzed up this gorgeous baby cardigan in Heather yarn from their Bambino range – not only did it knit up really well, the finished garment can be machine washed and tumble dried. Read on for more details of the Bambino range and ideas for projects using this yarn.

Stylecraft yarns: Bambino range
The Bambino range is a lovely collection of baby soft colours. 100% acrylic, this is a DK-weight yarn that knits up brilliantly and is ideal for knitting and crocheting projects using 4mm needles or hooks. Stylecraft recommend it for blankets, bonnets and booties for the newest member of your family.
What’s even better is that Stylecraft offer some free patterns and we found some great ideas for projects:
Free Stylecraft pattern for a knitted heart garland using DK-weight wool.
Another pattern (again, free from Stylecraft) for baby’s first stocking to hang on the Christmas tree.
One for the crocheters (free to download) for a crochet bauble.
For those of you looking for a bigger project, this humbug throw pattern is adorable and ideal for the nursery or pram.
How gorgeous would these four projects look in the Bambino colours? The DK-weighting of the yarn makes it the ideal choice.
