November’s fabric of the month
Now that we’re in November, there’s only one thing for it – to fill the fabric shop with fantastic crafting fabrics for Christmas.
Our fabric of the month is really the fabric of Christmas as it’s on offer during November and December. It’s a stunning 100% cotton, linen-look fabric with a Scandinavian inspired print and it’s reduced from £7.99 to £5.99/metre.

1. Simple Stocking
What’s great about this tutorial from Diary of a Quilter is that it is really versatile; you can increase the size of the pattern to fit your needs. We love the suggestion of a petite stocking to pop gift cards or small treats into. A variation on this would be 24 little stockings pegged to a string with treats for each day of advent.
2. Present Sack
There are hundreds of blog posts with instructions for Santa sacks, present sacks and gift sacks. This one from Buttons & Booties stood out for us though. We LOVE the idea of children filling their sack with spare toys on Christmas Eve and leaving them for Father Christmas to collect and share with children who are less fortunate. The sack can then be filled with new toys or gifts by the man himself. We think it is well worth sewing a special Santa sack to start this thoughtful tradition.
3. Christmas Bunting
Bunting is such a quick and easy way to brighten up a space, and the Scandinavian print of our chosen cotton will work well in smaller triangles. Check out these instructions on the Sewing Directory, they are suitable for beginners and would also be a fabulous starter project for younger sewing enthusiasts.
4. Tree decorations
Every family has its favourite tree decorations and the ones that outlive the rest are usually homemade. We’ve chosen a quilted option using multiple fabrics from Ros Made Me as it’s a good chance to use up some scraps, but they would look just as sweet in a single fabric choice too.
5. Festive napkins
